A walk in the park
Today I was soo tired when I woke up... Usually I go for a Power walk in the woods and even do a little jogging, but today I just took Neo our little park nearby.
Because its rained so much everything is so incredibly green! These pretty flowers are actually stinging nettles !
This a quiet little corner of the park where people on sunny days sit and read.
When you walk through the previous little patch you end up in this rose garden, they also grow the most sweet smelling heather !
This whole park actually used to belong to a family ...
Here is their little "chalet" ...
I love magnolia trees ! I forgot to write that my lil´ole´man is really old now. Neo turned 7 this past Friday. Oh my, how time flies...
PS. Thanks Frollein for the vote of confidence. How great you look in that grey sexy little dress ! :)
PS. Don't forget my SWAP PARTY !

I can´t beleive it´s been twenty days...
Hellooo ! How I´ve missed you all !
I can´t believe its been twenty days since my last post ... I´ve been meaning (and wanting!) to write for the past two weeks! If you only knew how many dog walks I´ve been "chatting" to all of you in my head - ha ha! Its a bit strange to miss people I don't really know ... But I have! :)
So much has happened... My best friend got sick ( she´s better, but still not quite well), I´ve sold my little summer place and I´ve been to visit the next place where I´m to work. This time I´m going to direct a British comedy, which should be fun!
I have to say I´m having a blast with my new iPhone! Its just so convenient to have everything at ones command ; text messages, emails, phone, ipod and enough apps to keep me one happy girl! By the way did you know there´s this really cool Burlesque app ?
My favorite new "toy" is otherwise the Omnifocus app, it just lets me keep track of all my "to do things". However today just translating and adapting 8 pages of British comedy to Swedish took ... 9 hours ... Which meant I ended up having a lot of things left on that list still to do... Ah well, anything for a laugh, eh?
Image is from here.
Omnifocus lets you keep track of all your goals, as well as what ever dreams and aspirations one might have. One of my dreams is to have a little vintage tea "show" - music, literature, tea and cakes by appointment only.
So on my "to do" list there is "buy vintage tea set". This is what I bought a month ago, its not a complete set, but isn´t it cute!
Having gone to an English school when I was a little girl I tend to love many a British things like ; Dickens, Christmas carols and Anglican church hymns, great BBC series and ... the ancient, but oh so stylish way of socializing - tea time. Not that I´ve had much opportunity to serve or even have High Noon Tea myself lately ...
Image from here.
Soon June is here and then July and I fly to Paris !
And I find myself very much in need of some new clothes... Some new vintage clothes I might add. I really would like to go to Paris and celebrate "la vie française" in vintage style! I´ve already started with my new - "one new lingerie per month" commitment. Mays lingerie was this beautiful set from Twilfit for 48 €.
However I could need some things to go on top - like new summer clothes! Paris in July is bound to be hot! But ... instead of me buying stuff, I thought it would be more fun to have a sort of on-line swap party!
That is : I post some pictures of things I want to swap and on the "swapping day" who ever is interested shows me what they have. If we like what we see, we ...swap! Of course I´m having some fabulous tea or perhaps even champagne that day! ;) So ...
You are hereby cordially invited to :
A VINTAGE ON-LINE SWAP PARTY! Saturday 6th June @ 7 o´clock Swedish time
Los Angeles - 10 am
New York City - 1 pm
London - 6 pm
These are the items I am swapping (gloves, shoes, hat, purse or jewellery NOT included) :
1. This 1950ish dress in a wool like material. Colour orange/brown. In the back there is a row of buttons to the waist.
2. An authentic 1950s - 1960s dress in cotton. ( it is a summer dress, but not really what I want)
I don´t know if you can tell, but the pattern is small leaves. Colour - warm mustard. Ita really two-in-one, since its a sleeveless dress and a little jacket too.
3. This beautiful satin evening coat ( at least that´s what me and my friend thinks it is and how I´ve worn it! ).
But the colour is not quite right, its more a deep rich burgundy. In the back there´s a little cute bow.
4. Last, but by no means least - this fab authentic 1950s - 1960s evening cocktail dress. Colour - a purple-blue nuance. Material - crepe? Its dressed with satin underneath.
I´m quite small up, but my waist is about 88 - 89 cm that´s 34 - 35 inches. Still, the dresses are a bit tight on me, so a slimmer person would do even better wearing these. Needless to say they are sold as they are. They´re in pretty good shape, but may need a stitch or two and the last dress has a few faint spots.
WILL SWAP FOR :
I´m looking for these 1940s authentic or retro looking items :
ONE SUMMER DRESS
DIFFERENT TOPS
A PAIR OF LIGHT PANTS/SLACKS ( SWING STYLE)
Till next we meet ( in a much shorter post ...) I remain yours truly! Diva
ps. It will take some time to catch up with you all, but I will !

Lena Horne dies at 92
Lena Horne at young age.
The following excerpts are from Huffington Post. You can read the entire article here.
NEW YORK — Lena Horne, the enchanting jazz singer and actress known for her plaintive, signature song "Stormy Weather" and for her triumph over the bigotry that allowed her to entertain white audiences but not socialize with them, has died. She was 92. Lena Mary Calhoun Horne was born in Brooklyn on June 30, 1917.
"Cabin in The Sky"
In the 1940s, Horne was one of the first black performers hired to sing with a major white band, to play the Copacabana nightclub in New York City and when she signed with MGM, she was among a handful of black actors to have a contract with a major Hollywood studio. In 1943, MGM Studios loaned her to 20th Century-Fox to play the role of Selina Rogers in the all-black movie musical "Stormy Weather." Her rendition of the title song became a major hit and her most famous tune.
Horne, whose striking beauty often overshadowed her talent and artistry, was remarkably candid about the underlying reason for her success: "I was unique in that I was a kind of black that white people could accept," she once said. "I was their daydream. I had the worst kind of acceptance because it was never for how great I was or what I contributed. It was because of the
way I looked."
Sweet dreams Lena, R.I.P !

Thinking of spring cleaning...
Today the sun came out ! Hooray !
There´s generally a sense of optimism in the air as the trees go into bloom! But personally I get a little nervous about summer and swim wear ... Why, oh why is it just so difficult to be satisfied with the body one has... I´ve been working out ..,
... if even sporadically and thanks to Neo I´ve had plenty of brisk walks in the woods. But I haven´t lost weight like I would like too and here I have to confess... Its partly due to the fact that I have it have a bit of an addiction to...
SWEDISH CANDY (smågodis) ! Yesterday I went on a big b-i-n-g-e in front of the TV watching a movie ... Hm... could that be the reason ;)
Not good ... I mean I dream of looking like this ...
When I´m more like this... :D
OK, so I´m exaggerating a little... But thanks to my new toy ...
Yes, people I have an...IPhone ! - I get to do convenient exercisess everyday thanks to some great health apps that I use ! :) And would you believe it there is even a burlesque app ! As for the case covering my phone is just a simple black one. But look at these two cute covers!
How sweet is this retro style !
Or this plain ole´diva -blingbling-style ! Both designs are from ValVeliero.com. Its has to be said ...I LOVE my IPhone !
Ive had it for about 3 weeks and I have so much fun with it ! But back to bathing suits ...
Isn´t this pink outfit just delicious ! Its from Pinup Couture. I really need to vamp up my summer style, not to mention my underwear ... Which is why I bought this book a few days ago on sale.
I can´t really translate it as its a play with Swedish words, but the whole book - all 192 pages - are dedicated to underwear ! So I´ve decided to do something I did 1-2 years ago. I will recommit to buying one pair of sexy lingerie every month!
PS. If you want a great lingerie blog then look up The Lingerie Addict.
Ps. For a good 2-3 hours now I´ve been tapping my feet to Vintage Kittens music ;)
