Sorry for the delay... I´ve had a bit of a problem with the Internet in the house we´re staying in.
But first things first ; HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! May 2010 give us all we hope for and more !
I for one expect great things! Starting with my project here in Ghana "African Cinderella"! I see this journey as a possibility for me to connect more with the country and the people here. After all, I am 50% Ghanaian! ;) Today I even went looking for a house ( not that I have any money... )
I couldn´t help think about the last time it was a new decade that began with 10 - 1910. A decade that started of with so much promise, only to plunge into the first world war.... Or as it was also known as The Great War - the war to end all wars...
I´m a great lover of Laura Ingalls Wilders books ( you know, Little House on the Prairie - NOT the TV-series). And even now I still re-read them every now and then. In one of the books ( By The Shores of Silverlake ?) Pa and Laura are out on a walk to see the new rail road being laid. There´s a sense of adventure and optimism about the future and what it holds for the family and the country. Pa talks about how one day a machine will most likely do a mans work out in the field, but never in a million years had they been able to envision how we live, work and communicate today !
I remember when I was younger thinking about the millenium and how exciting it was that I would be a part of it, yet looking back that is now 10 years ago... Yes, time flies and never more so than when you´re having fun.
I started blogging this summer and its has indeed been so much fun, even though I can´t keep up with some of you ladies who some how manage to blog, work, clean and make great drinks too ( Yes, I´m talking to you TVK ;) I´m so looking forward to both reading and writing more blog material in 2010.
The picture is from New Years Eve ( a very low key event). Also, I got a blog award! My first! From Whimsical Debbie over at GirlWhimsey. Thanks so much ! Let me know how to pass it on Debbie!

Hi gorgeous lady, may I just say that have the most radiantly wonderful smile!
From my earliest childhood days onward I have been a tremendously big fan of LIW's writing, too, and read (and reread many times) all of her wonderful works when I was growing up (I love her books so much they took up pride of place on a shelf built into the headboard of my childhood bed). It's so lovely to discover that we share a mutual passion for Laura and her timelessly wonderful writing.
Wishing you a serene and splendid Sunday, my friend!
♥ Jessica
There's an award for you at my blog!!
xoxo
